Nepali envoy to Belgium presents credentials

KATHMANDU: Nepali Ambassador to Belgium Lok Bahadur Thapa on Wednesday presented his Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Philippe amidst a special ceremony held at Royal Laeken Castle in Brussels.

During the programme, King Philippe congratulated Ambassador Thapa on his appointment and wished him success in strengthening the existing relations between Nepal and Belgium, according to a statement issued by Embassy of Nepal in Brussels.

Ambassador Thapa, on the occasion, conveyed the greetings and best wishes from Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari to His Majesty King Philippe.

While expressing happiness over the state of bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Nepal and Belgium, Ambassador Thapa said that he would be making unremitting efforts to augment these relations to a new height during his tenure, the statement read.

Thapa is the sixth Ambassador of Nepal to Belgium after the establishment of residential Embassy of Nepal in Brussels in 1992.
