Student unions want RR FSU polls postponed again

KATHMANDU: Nine student unions have demanded the postponement of the Free Student Union (FSU) elections at the Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus scheduled for coming Tuesday.

Issuing a press release, the nine student organisations affiliated with the ruling parties asked the Campus administration to set a new date for the FSU elections by postponing ongoing process.

They said the polls should not be held as the students of MA second year would be in exams and no environment conducive was created to participate in the elections for all students.

The Nepal Student Union President Nain Singh Mahar said the FSU elections should be postponed because if held, they could exclude many students.

Earlier, the FSU election scheduled for March 6 was also postponed.

Issuing a notice on Saturday, Campus Chief Nirmala Kumari Suwal had fixed the election date for Tuesday after the Supreme Court issued an order in the name of the Chief District officer of Kathmandu and the Campus administration.
