UCPN-Maoist to talk to PM over inefficiency

KATHMANDU: The ruling coalition member UCPN-Maoist would soon "seriously talk to the Prime Minister" over the government's inefficiency.

Concluding a three-day standing committee meeting on Thursday, the second largest member of the ruling bloc expressed unhappiness over performance of the government led by CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been entrusted with holding the talks with the Prime Minister.

"The meeting concluded that the performance of the government so far is not fully satisfactory," UCPN-M Vice-Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha said after the meeting, "More works have to be done to give a result."

The meeting, has, hence decided to invest all its energy to improve the performance of government with periodic plans, according to Shrestha.

The standing committee had also invited ministers representing the party to inquire them about their performance.

"The meeting had concretely reviewed overall performance of the government as well as works of the ministries led by our party," had added,  "The ministers also presented details of works carried out so far."

Meanwhile, the meeting urged Shrestha to withdraw his resignation from the position of Coordinator of the Government Operation Coordination and Cooperation Committee of the party and carry out the tasks more effectively.

Shrestha had submitted the resignation claiming the party Chairman himself should lead the Committee.

The party also decided to revive a mechanism of ruling coalition members, led by Dahal, to help the government improve its performance.
