UML leader Adhikari leaves for Thailand on medical trip

KATHMANDU: CPN- UML leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari left for Thailand for his medical treatment today.

He was taken to Bangkok because of complications in his intestines, according to his personal secretary Mahesh Bista. Adhikari is expected to undergo a hernia surgery at the Vejthani Hospital in Bangkok.

Following the advice of the doctors, he flew to Thailand on a Thai Airways plane this morning at 11.

Adhikari was recuperating at home after receiving treatment at the Vayodha Hospital in January following complications in urinating and defecation.

"But, the complications have relapsed now," Bista said.

Adhikari is accompanied by his wife, daughter and son-in-law on the trip.
