MORANG: Over 1,500 households of Jante VDC in Morang district have been reeling under acute shortage of drinking water after floods  in Teli Rivulet swept away pipeline of local drinking water project on July 25.

The drinking water project was constructed 30 years ago.

Dilli Bishwokarma, Chairman of the Jante Drinking Water and Sanitation Users' Committee, said that over 1,500 households of Jante 1, 2, 8 and 9 have been deprived of drinking water.

He added that the locals have been forced to drink contaminated water.
