DAMAULI: A child drowned while swimming in Myagdi River in Manapang-6 of Tanahun on Friday afternoon.

According to the District Police Office, Tanahun, the deceased has been identified as seven-year-old Rejina Pariyar, daughter of Laxman Pariyar of Belsoti in the district.

Rejina, who was rescued in a critical condition, was rushed to the Seti Ganga Community Hospital in Dulegaunda but breathed her last during the course of treatment, police informed.

The body has been taken to the Damauli Hospital for autopsy.
