PHIDIM: Police on Sunday busted two members of a gang involved in swindling people of millions of rupees by using mobile phone.

The suspects have been identified as Prakash Dahal (18) of Gauradaha-9, Jhapa and Meghnath Giri (32) of Pathari, Morang.

According to Chief of the District Police Office, Panchthar, Krishna Prasad Koirala, they were involved in defrauding Ncell users by using an Ncell app with the help of Sumit Sharma of Rajsthan, India.

According to a preliminary investigation, the duo first downloaded the Ncell app onto their mobile phones and collected information including recharge dates and balances of Ncell SIM card users. Later, made phone calls to the users claiming themselves to be Ncell staff to swindle them, Koirala informed.

The Indian national Sharma, the mastermind of the crime, is still at large, police said.
