RAUTAHAT: A five-year-old child died after she was knocked down by a pick-up van in Gaur Municipality on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Priti Kumari Sahani, daughter of Prem Sahani.

Police said that the over speeding four-wheeler (Na 2 Cha 4374) heading towards Gaur from Chandrapur hit her at Kabir Chowk yesterday evening.

DSP Sudhir Raj Shahi informed that they have impounded the vehicle and arrested its driver Lok Nath Ghimire of Simrabhawanipur, Rautahat for investigation.
