Police arrest five for demonstrating at Rautahat border point

RAUTAHAT: Police on Thursday arrested five persons from Indo-Nepal border point in Rautahat, while they demonstrated at the entry point against the Constitution.

Around 100 cadres of the United Democratic Madhesi Front had demonstrated at the bordering bridge between Gaur of the district and Bairagania of Bihar state of India.

The arrestees include Federal Socialist Froum-Nepal central committee member Ram Kishor Yadav.

Some UCPN-Maoist cadres close to leader Prabhu Sah, who has been expressing differing views on the Constitution, have also participated in the protest.

The Indian Sashastra Seema Bal has stopped the protesters from entering the Indian side.

The UDMF on Wednesday had decided to intensify border- and highway-centric protests.
