RJP-Nepal presidium member calls govt a failure

Rajbiraj, October 4

Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal presidium member Raj Kishor Yadav has called the present government a failure, saying the government has failed in almost every field.

“Be it in addressing the concerns of the Madhes, controlling rising prices or providing security, the government has failed,” said Yadav, at a press meet in Rajbiraj today. Further, he informed that his party was preparing to send a memorandum to the PM to give the government one last chance to rectify its mistake.

“We had lent our support to the government, but as the government seems apathetic to addressing problems, it seems the time has come for us to think about our support to the government,” said Yadav. “How can we continue supporting a government that spreads hatred against federalism, helps  gold smugglers get off the hook and protects murderer(s) of Nrimala Panta?” he asked, claiming that investigation into the gold smuggling racket had stopped after it became apparent that high level  leaders of the ruling party would be drawn into the investigation net.

“We supported the PM in return for his promise to amend the constitution and help in the development of Madhes, but he has ditched us now,” alleged the leader, accusing the government of making a mockery of the public mandate by barring elected Provincial Assembly member Resham Chaudhary from swearing in.

Yadav also expressed concern about the government not making public the report of Tarai Madhes Tharuhat Probe Commission, which was formed to investigate the Tikapur incident.
