RPP-N chair Thapa bats for Hindu state

Chitwan, August 21

Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa today said if the parties agreed to amend the constitution to pacify the agitating forces they should also revive Hinduism in the country or hold people’s referendum in this regard.

Inaugurating the second district convention of Rastriya Prajatantrik Party-Nepal’s Women’s Department and the party’s central training department in Bharatpur today, Thapa  argued that if the constitution is to be amended just to pacify the agitating forces, his party was also ready to hit the street.

Chairman Thapa said that the ruling parties were running after foreign forces in the name of the constitution amendment.

He added that if this continued, disparity and mistrust among parties would increase.

He also accused the major parties of being responsible for political instability in the country.

“The parties are busy amending the constitution instead of executing it properly,” he said.

He added, “ This may create complexities in constitution implementation later. The parties are working unilaterally instead of forging mutual trust and consensus.”

Thapa also ruled out the possibility of local polls being held in April next year.

The party’s training will continue up to Tuesday.

According to the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal’s district chairperson Badri Timilsina, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal’s future plan, its preparations for the upcoming local bodies’ polls and the present political situation, among others things , will be discussed at the function.
