PHIDIM: A teenager was killed after he reportedly peed on the trousers of his neighbour on April 8 midnight.

Police have identified the victim as Sukhbir Rai alias Rabindra (17) of Rabi-1 in Panchthar and the alleged murderer as Anil Rai alias Deuke (25) of Olne-9, currently residing in the neighbourhood of the victim.

According to DSP Krishna Prasad Koirala, the duo, both being under the influence of alcohol were returning from a cultural programme organised by Himchuli Cultural Youth Club at Arubote VDC-8.

They were walking down the street when the teenager Rai suddenly turned back and peed on the trousers of Anil, at which the latter, furious at such mischief, strangled the teenager's neck with his muffler to death.

Police said a boy in the neighbourhood had witnessed the dispute and had even intervened but failed to stop the incident.

The witness had kept mum about the issue until the victim's body was discovered the following day.

Panchthar police detained the absconding suspect from Dharan on Thursday. He confessed the crime in a statement given to police.
