UDMF strike shuts Bairgania checkpoint for 8th day

RAUTAHAT: The Bairgania checkpoint, near Gaur of Rautahat, remained closed on the eighth consecutive day on Thursday, due to the protests carried out by the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) and National Muslim Struggle Alliance.

The cadres and leaders of the UDMF are staging a sit-in at the Indo-Nepal border point from the fourth day of demonstration.

The demonstrations carried out by the UDMF cadres have not allowed any vehicles to ply from the checkpoint.

Mahendra Yadav, Chairman of Tarai Madhes Sadhawana Party, who was also present at the sit-in to support the protesters informed that the protest is peaceful.

He even claimed that talking with the government is baseless as the agreements signed earlier with the disgruntled parties have not been implemented by the government.

Meanwhile, the cadres of UDMF are also staging a sit-in protest at Auraiya-based sub-customs point.
