Colombia star Rodriguez could miss Paraguay match

PASADENA: Colombia star James Rodriguez could miss his nation's Copa America match on Tuesday against Paraguay.

Coach Jose Pekerman said Monday that Rodriguez hurt his left shoulder in a 2-0 victory over the United States to open the tournament. But he added that the availability of Rodriguez, known internationally by his first name, will be a game-time decision.

"James has improved, but as we all know, he still has some pain," Pekerman said at an evening news conference. "We have 24 hours to go before the game to make a decision. We don't want to rush it, that wouldn't be right. We want to give him a little more time to make the right decision."

Rodriguez scored on a penalty kick in the victory over the Americans.

Paraguay drew with Costa Rica in its opener.
