GHCA U-18 cricket team off to Bangladesh

Kathmandu, October 11

A 16-member team of Wai Wai Great Himalaya Cricket Academy on Wednesday left for Bangladesh to take part in the BKSP Cup U-18 Cricket Tournament slated for October 11-17 in Dhaka.

According to Sudeep Sharma, GHCA Director and coach of the team, a total of six teams, including five local teams, will compete in the 50-over event. Participating teams have been divided into two groups and each team will play two matches in the league round. Meanwhile, Madan Bhandari Sports Academy President Binod Shrestha and Chaudhary Group’s Assistant General Manager Lal Babu Prasad among others bade farewell to the team.

Himanshu Dutta will lead the squad that includes Anubhab Karki, Saugat Dangal, Manish Kumar Singh, Parikshit Dhakal, Soham Aryal, Abhishek Basnet, Arpan Kunwar, Avyash Timsina, Sarthak Kant Sedhain, Aabhusan Raj Shahi, Bigyan Gautam and Deepesh Poudel. Coach Sudeep Sharma, manager Suman Raj Karki and assistant manager Naresh KC also accompanied the players to Dhaka.  Bangladesh Institute of Sports is organising the tournament.
