Preparations for 7th National Games in full swing

BIRATNAGAR: Preparations are in full swing for the Seventh National Games to be held in various locations of the Eastern Development Region of the country.

At a press conference organised in Biratnagar on Saturday, the National Sports Council (NSC) Member-Secretary Keshav Kumar Bista said an estimated Rs 376.8 million would be spent in the national sports event taking place from coming November 23 to 30.

The government has already released Rs 230 million for the preparatory works including physical infrastructure and rest of the estimated budget has been requested.

Altogether 6,286 individuals including 4,200 athletes along with coaches, managers and referees are taking part in the event where 32 different sports events would be held, he said.

The inaugural function of the national event would be held in Biratnagar while its closing function would take place in Dharan.

Preparations for the physical infrastructure in several parts were already in the full swing and all needful preparations would be completed before the event, Bista shared.
