KATHMANDU: Sunrise Cricket Academy of Mahendranagar won the title of the Nexus U-16 Cricket Cup here at the Tribhuvan University Stadium on Friday.

Sunrise defeated Mid-western Cricket Club of Kohalpur by six wickets in the final match. Put into bat first, Mid-western were packed for 93 runs in 19.1 overs before Sunrise raced to the victory in 18 overs losing four wickets. Bishal Bikram KC (18) and Bharat Oli (17) were the major contributors for Mid-western. Naresh Bohara claimed five wickets for Sunrise, who achieved the target riding on Abhisekh Thapa’s 45 runs. Niraj Pokhrel remained unbeaten on 20.

The winners Sunrise and runners-up Mid-western got Rs 150,000 and Rs 100,000 respectively.
