SIMARA: Tribhuvan Army Club defeated Himalayan Sherpa Club 2-1 and advanced to the final of the Ruslan eighth Simara Gold Cup here on Thursday.

TAC took the lead in the 42nd minute after Himalayan Sherpa’s Man Bahadur Tamang scored an own goal while trying to clear Padam Tamang’s shot that rebounded to play after hitting the cross bar. Himalayan Sherpa’s Heman Gurung levelled the tally in the injury time before Tanka Basnet sealed the victory for TAC in the 57th minute. Himalayan Sherpa’s goalkeeper Kishor Giri was named the man-of-the-match and got Rs 5,000.

TAC will now face CMG Club Sankata in Saturday’s final.
