BIRGUNJ, FEBRUARY 3

Nepal Civil Servants Organisation, Parsa, today staged a sitin in front of the district administration office demanding action against persons involved in abusing a government officer in Dhobini Rural Municipality a few days ago.

According to Dhobini Rural Municipality Chief Administration Officer Raju Sah, a team including ward member Shanti Devi's husband Dharman Raut Kurmi and locals had abused the rural municipality's planning section chief Pappu Patel on January 27.

Shanti Devi is a ward member of Dhobini Rural Municipality.

Protesting the abuse, the organisation led by its Parsa district Chair Amit Kumar Giri held the protest for about two hours seeking action against the abusers.

'Such acts not only dent the morale of servicemen but also affect service delivery, so there is no way such actions can be tolerated,' Giri said. He asked the administration to take action against the guilty and ensure justice to the victims.

Giri further warned that they would be compelled to hold such sit-in tomorrow as well if the administration does not start the process of taking action.

'We will be obliged to resort to sterner forms of protest from Sunday unless the administration takes action against the guilty by Friday,' he said.
