NEPSE drops 11 Points on Thursday; Daily turnover limits to Rs 1.106b

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index witnessed a decline of 11.04 points, equivalent to 0.56 percent, ultimately closing at 1956.92 points, on Thursday.
During today's trading session, the sensitive index, which evaluates the performance of class 'A' stocks, also experienced a drop of 0.40 percent, or 1.53 points, reaching 373.37 points. Similarly, the float index, which gauges the performance of shares actually traded, saw a decline of 0.57 percent, or 0.78 points, concluding at 135.95 points.
At the end of the day, all sub-indices showed a negative trend, with the exception of the mutual fund index, which experienced a slight increase of 0.24 percent. Among the losers, the hotels and tourism index registered the most significant decline with a 1.17 percent drop, followed by the manufacturing and processing index with a 0.93 percent decrease.
Today's trading session witnessed a total of 3,562,624 shares from 280 different scrips changing hands through 50,069 transactions, resulting in a turnover of over Rs 1.106 billion. This decline in daily turnover marks a continuation of the market's downward trend experienced throughout the week.
Meanwhile, the total market capitalization during today's trading session stood at Rs 2.983 trillion.
