KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 10

The Nepali Army has issued a public appeal calling on individuals to surrender any weapons, ammunition, or security equipment that may have been looted or discarded during the Gen Z protests.

In a notice released by the Public Relations and Information Directorate, the Army requested anyone in possession of such items to hand them over immediately to the nearest security agency or security personnel.

The appeal also urged the public to share information regarding the misuse of these weapons and to encourage concerned parties to surrender them without delay. Additionally, the Army warned against the unauthorized use of security force uniforms or attire during the sensitive period.

The Army has cautioned that legal action will be taken under prevailing law against anyone found in possession of unauthorized weapons or failing to comply with the order.

The announcement comes as security forces remain on high alert following violent demonstrations in Kathmandu and other cities earlier this week, where government offices, political leaders' residences, and public buildings were targeted by arson and vandalism.
