KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 15
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has urged the public not to purchase or trade goods suspected to have been looted during the protests of September 8–9 (Bhadra 23–24).
According to the CIB, valuable items including official documents, historical records, weapons, cash, and other property were stolen from government offices, private buildings, commercial establishments, and financial institutions, and some are reportedly being sold in markets.
Authorities have requested anyone with information or possession of such items to immediately inform the nearest security agency or hand them over.
The CIB warned that individuals found buying, selling, or storing stolen property will face action under existing laws.
