US appreciates recent developments for statute

KATHMANDU: The United States appreciated recent political developments in Nepal regarding the constitution making. Calling on Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at his residence in Baluwatar of the Capital today, the US Ambassador to Nepal, Peter W Bodde, said the US welcomes latest developments regarding the statute drafting process. Bodde, who had been to the States recently for a medical check-up recently, told the Prime Minister that he informed the American government about the aftermath of Nepal earthquake. Prime Minister's press coordinator Prakash Adhikari said the envoy was also concerned about the national reconstruction campaign in the wake of devastating quake and its aftershocks. Bodde assured the Prime Minister that the US will increase support to Nepal in the aftermath of tremor. In response, Koirala said Nepal will head toward peace, stability, democracy and development once the new constitution is delivered.
