BIRGUNJ: UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said the new constitution will be promulgated only after fixing boundaries of Pradeshes. Contrary to the 16-point agreement among four major political parties including his own, Dahal said the new constitution to be issued by mid-August will mention boundaries of Pradeshes. Speaking at a press meet in Birgunj of Parsa on Saturday, the Maoist boss said, “Our party is for delineating state boundaries before promulgation of the constitution.” In the June 8 deal, the parties, however, had agreed that a federal commission will delineate boundaries of states after the statute is issued. Dahal, nonetheless, said all parties should move ahead in the constitution writing process considering the 16-point agreement as a basis for the ways ahead. Party’s senior leader Baburam Bhattarai and Vice-Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha among other leaders of the party were present at the function.
