KATHMANDU: The Bouddhanath Area Development Committee has begun a study for the renovation of the Bouddhanath Chaitya. The famous stupa suffered damage in the April 25 earthquake and its subsequent aftershocks. The study by a team of experts will be carried out for a month and will present a report to the Committee, according to BADC Chairperson Sapurna Kumar Lama. New technologies are likely to be adopted in the renovation but the existing structure will be the same, Lama said. Resources for the renovation work will be collected from within and outside the country.
