KATHMANDU: The government decided on Thursday to provide compensation to the families of victims of landslides on a par with victims of the earthquake. Minister for Information and Communication Minendra Rijal said the kin of the deceased would receive Rs 40,000 each for last rites, Rs 1 lakh as compensation and Rs 15,000 for temporary settlement besides tarpaulin sheets and food supplies.
