APF, Nepal Police DIGs and Kailali CDO called back after Tikapur incident

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday called back Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Khadananda Chaudhari of the Armed Police Force and Nepal DIG Ram Kumar Khanal of Nepal Police from the Far Western Development Region in the wake of the Sunday's violent clashes in Tikapur of Kailali district in which security personnel were killed. Likewise, the Chief District Officer of Kailali has also been called back. Mohan Bahadur Chapagain is replacing Raj Kumar Shrestha as the chief administrator of the district. Both the DIGs have been called back to the headquarters of respective forces. According to MoHA Spokesperson Laxmi Dhakal, APF DIG Suraj Shrestha and Nepal Police DIG Madhav Nepal have been transferred there. Similarly, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dinesh Amatya has been deputed in the place of SSP Laxman Neupane who was killed in the clash yesterday.
