Dhangadi, September 17 Kailali Chief District Officer Mohan Prasad Chapagain today appealed to the people to shun activities that could dent the existing social harmony. Chapagain has made the appeal at a time when the day for promulgating the constitution is round the corner. “Let’s not do anything that will disturb social unity and harmony that has existed here for years. We should be careful not to encroach upon others’ rights while exercising our rights,” the statement reads. According to CDO Chapagain, his administration is committed to ensure peace and security in the district. Similarly, in view of the inevitability of statute promulgation and possible protests and demonstrations, Chief of far-west Regional Office DIG Madhav Nepal, on his part, issued directives to police units to do the needful to ensure peace and security here. Meanwhile, a decision was taken to mobilise all the four security bodies in view of the sensitivity of the situation in the context of statute promulgation.
