PHIDIM: A Dalit woman was thrashed black and blue by her neighbour at Subhang of Panchthar on Wednesday. According to the sources, local Prem Bahadur Suhang, 25, beat Yamuna Bayalkoti, 30, indiscriminately using sharp weapon. Bayalkoti, whose fingers have been chopped, has been receiving treatment at District Hospital. She said she was beaten as her cattle grazed in a paddy field owned by Suhang. “He started hitting me with a sharp weapon and hurled obscenities at me. Suhang had returned home after working in a foreign country a few days ago. “The accused is on the run after the victims’ family filed a case against him,” said Panchthar DSP Krishna Kumar Koirala.
