RAJBIRAJ: All health facilities of Saptari district including the Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital would resume their services after 26 days on Friday. After signing a four-point agreement with the Chief District Officer Narayan Bhatta today, protesting doctors and health professionals ended their strike. Hospitals in the district were closed since November 22 after police entered the Zonal Hospital and assaulted some doctors while containing a political protest. According to the agreement sealed today, the government side agreed to ensure security of health professionals, bear expenses for treatment of injured doctors, provide compensation for vandalism at the Hospital and transfer District Police Chief DSP Narayan Chimariya from the district. Likewise, the District Administration Office also agreed to write to the Regional Administration Office for an investigation into the November 22 incident.
