Bus mishap kills one
KATHMANDU:
A passenger died on the spot when a bus with registration number Ba A Kha 8411 skidded off a road and tumbled down near Deepdhoka, Kirtipur, the police said. The deceased was identified as 19-year-old Chandrakala Thapa. — HNS

KATHMANDU:
The Tribhuvan University published the results of the Proficiency Level Mechanical and Air Conditioning Engineering and Architecture Programme second year first part regular and make up examinations on Wednesday. The exams were conducted under the Institute of Engineering in Baisakh. — RSS
Education for all
KATHMANDU:
The minister of Education and Sports, Radha Krishna Mainali, has said the government has adopted the policy of handing over the management of the public schools to the local communities to make education accessible to all. Mainali made this remark while giving away cash prizes to the schools of the Kathmandu district, which did well in the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations of 2060 Bikram Sambat year. He explained that the management of the public schools was being handed over to the community for improving the standard of education in schools. — RSS
Bid to curb trafficking
KATHMANDU:
The Minister of Women, Children and Social Welfare, Durga Shrestha, said on Wednesday that the government has constituted task forces in 26 district to check trafficking in women and children. Inaugurating the workshop on national counselling for checking trafficking in women and children, Shrestha said plans have been formulated as per the spirit of Nepal’s commitment to the international conventions on eradication of all forms of violence against women and children. — RSS
