CHITWAN: At least 32 persons were taken ill after they attended a wedding reception in Kabilas village of Chitwan district on Monday. Locals of Kusumtar, Kabilas-9, have been falling ill one after another since the party yesterday. The Bharatpur Hospital said 32 villagers were admitted to the hospital by Wednesday evening. Most of them are said to be children. Chief of the Medical Department of the Hospital, Dr Bijaya Paudel said they had symptoms of vomiting, fever and diarrhoea among others. He suspected some sort of food poisoning behind the illness. One of the patients, Sharada Tamang, said she began feeling unwell as soon as she returned home from the party. 'I thought it was due to other reasons, at first,' she said, 'But as other neighbours also experienced the same, I concluded that it was due to what we had taken at the party.' Dr Paudel, however, maintained that the patients were gradually improving. It might take around five days for them to completely recuperate, he added.
