Pubudu Dassanayake to continue as Nepal's consultant coach

KATHMANDU: Former head coach Pubudu Dassanayake will continue as a consultant coach during Nepal's UK tour for a practice match against the English Marylebone Cricket Club in July and the ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Championship matches against the Netherlands in August. It has been learned that Dassanayake will join the Nepali team in Lord's. After resigning as Nepal's head coach last year, the Sri Lanka-born former cricketer had provided his guidance to Nepal as a consultant during their WCL Championship matches against Namibia in Kathmandu in April. Nepal are scheduled to play the Netherlands in Amstelveen on August 13 and 15.

Among eight teams, the Netherlands currently are on the top of the WCL points table, while Nepal are on the sixth position.
