ROLPA: In a gruesome incident in local Mijhing VDC-6 of Rolpa district last night, a woman reportedly clubbed her daughter to death. The mother, identified as Dhana Budhathoki from Khumel, Kiwang Municipality-2, currently living at her parental home in Mijhing, killed her daughter, Jhakama Budhathoki (6), thrashing her on the back repeatedly with a wooden plank, police said. Dhana is said to be in the ninth month of her pregnancy and mentally unsound. She had been living with her parents with the daughter and a son of one and half years. Her husband is in Dhangadhi working as a daily wage labourer. Police have taken the woman under control. Meanwhile, in another incident in the district, a 38-year-old woman was critically injured after an unidentified person hit her with a stone last night. She is Sona Kumari Nepali of Thawang-8. She was hit on the right temple and suffers a concussion, it is learnt. Her husband has been picked up by police for interrogation.
