KATHMANDU: The counting of votes in Kirtipur Municipality has been halted following a dispute between the supporters of two political parties.

Nepali Congress supporters protested after the CPN-UML took the lead at ward number 2 of the Municipality. The vote count was halted at 11 pm last night,' said Keshav Parajuli, an assistant election official. An all-party meeting is being held this morning to resolve the issue and reach an agreement on resuming the vote count.
