Panchthar quadragenarian stoned to death in drunken brawl

PANCHTHAR: A 40-year-old man has been stoned to death in Bhotegaun of Phidim Municipality-12 in Panchthar district on Friday evening. The deceased has been identified as Mingma Sherpa. The incident occurred after Sherpa got into a dispute with his neighbour Yuma Sherpa in a drunken state at another neighbour's house last night. Subsequently, Yuma Sherpa allegedly pelted him with a stone inflicting critical injury on his head, last night, according to the District police Office Panchthar. The injured Sherpa breathed his last on the way to the Panchthar hospital this morning, Information Official Bigyan Basnet at the DPO said. Sherpa's body is currently being taken to the hospital for an autopsy. Meanwhile, police have been mobilised in different areas of Yangnam, Sidin and Nagin to nab the culprit who fled the scene after the incident.
