BIRATNAGAR: Biratnagar witnessed mixed impact of general strike called by Rastriya Janata Party Nepal on Tuesday. The party has called general strike locally known as 'bandh' demanding the postponement of June28 local polls, the amendment of the constitution among other issues. Life in the city also came to a grinding halt due to banda as public transport services, market places, educational institutions remained shut due to bandh in the main city areas. However, such impact is less in other peripheral parts of the city. On the other hand, the electric rickshaw and motorbikes are found plying freely along the main roads as well.
