KATHMANDU: Incumbent Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has been sworn-in for his second term of office today. President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered oath of office to her deputy, Vice-President Pun, amid an official ceremony at Sheetal Niwas. Pun was re-elected unopposed for a second consecutive term since opposition Nepali Congress, or any other party, did not field candidates to contend the election to the post of vice president against Pun. In a similar instance, the left alliance had earlier pitched President Bidya Devi Bhandari as their candidate which had led to her victory and thus continuity into the second term of office. However, NC leader Kumari Laxmi Rai had contested the presidential election against Bhandari.
