Pilgrims hurt

BARA: Three Nepali pilgrims, who were on their way to Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu and Kashmir in a Mithila Travels’ bus, were critically injured when the bus met with an accident near Delhi on Tuesday. Those injured in the accident are Inar Dev Prasad Yadav, Jagarnath Kushwaha and Raman Kushwaha of Bara, Gunjbhawanipur. — HNS

Three freed

MAHENDRANAGAR: Maoists on Wednesday released two Indians, Lakhmir Singh Sindhu and Rajiv Kumar Surjit, and a female employee of the Gadda Chowki-based Monalisa beer bar, Laxmi Khatri, of Dodhara, whom they had detained on Tuesday. The Indians were handed over to Banbasa (India) police station incharge, Bipin Chandra Pant. — HNS

Rhino dies

NARAYANGARH: A rhino, which was injured after a poacher shot at it in the second week of Shrawan, was found dead in the Tikauli jungle of Chitwan Nation Park on Tuesday, said Armed Forest Preserve Training Centre, Tikauli. After the third rhino count in 2005, 16 rhinos were killed by poachers while two died of natural causes. — HNS
