Kavre, November 30:

CPN-Maoist cadres have rejected the idea of the re-establishment of the police post in Dolalghat, said the Kavre district police office.

According to the DPO, Maoists sent back a police team, which reached Dolalghat on Tuesday to begin work for the re-establishment of the post, saying that re-establishment without their consent is not possible.

The police team had gone to Dolalghat after re-establishing police posts in Palanchowk, Sanga and Panauti.

“We have stopped re-establishing other police posts also after the Maoists sent back the police team from Dolalghat,” said inspector Dipak Bharati. The police posts in Dolalghat, Khopasi and Nala were scheduled to re-established, he added.

Maoist leader Armit said they did not allow the police posts to be reinstated in accordance with their party policy as the state itself need restructuring.

“The locals too opposed the reinstatement of police posts and we stood by them,” he told this daily. The government plans to re-open different area and district police posts by mid-December.
