KATHMANDU:

A non-gazetted officer of the District Administration Office in Morang, Rameshwor Regmi, apparently committed suicide at his home in Ghattekulo in Kathmandu on Monday evening. Regmi had been transferred to Saptari four months ago, but was home on leave since.

Police and neighbours said Regmi might have committed suicide as he feared going to the Tarai to join duties there. It is learnt that he had been desperately trying to get himself transferred to the capital. Neighbours found him hanging in a room of his house, police said.
