Palpa, January 4:

Bal Bahadur Saru, 11, was killed when a tractor hit him today.

Saru was killed instantly when the tractor heading to Aryabhanjyang from Rampur hit him, the Palpa district police office said, adding that the tractor driver has been held for investigation.

Another report from Nepalgunj said the area adjoining BP Chowk remained tense after Prabha Bist, 25, was killed in a road mishap here today.

A truck hit Bist, a resident of Dhambojhi of Nepalgunj-1, when she was on her way to attend a computer class on her bicycle.

The 25-year-old died while she was being rushed to the Nepalgunj Medical College, according to the report.

Following her death, irate locals obstructed roads and vandalised the truck. The police charged batons to disperse the crowd.
