YCL men attack NSU cadres, two hurt

Lamjung, January 18:

Two Nepal Students’ Union members were severely injured when Young Communist League cadres attacked them with sticks and rods last night on Rampur Agriculture Campus in Lamjung district, while two others were injured by All Nepal National Free Students’ Union cadres (ANNFSU) at the Paklihawa Agriculture Campus in Bhairahawa of Rupandehi district.

The fracas between the YCL cadres and NSU members erupted at Sunrise Hotel in Sundar bazaar of Lamjung. NSU members Roshan Subedi and Umanath Sharma were seriously injured and are being treated at Bhote Outdoor Clinic, said Dhruv Ghimire of NSU.

Police have arrested YCL cadres Hari Adhikari, Dipesh Bhujel and Binod Dhakal. NSU members also manhandled campus chief Dr Gopal Bahadur KC who allegedly refused to

provide a vehicle to take the injured NSU members to hospital.

YCL Lamjung district president Ram Chandra Poudel denied the involvement of YCL cadres in the attack and condemned the campus chief’s manhandling.

According to our Bhairahawa correspondent, two NSU members were injured in a clash with ANNFSU members at Paklihawa Agriculture Campus.
