Biratnagar, January 27:
Acting president of the Nepali Congress (NC) Sushil Koirala said today that the nation will face a civil war if the CA polls are not held on time.
Addressing a meeting of NC cadres here, he expressed hope that the government will hold the polls on time, come what may.
Stating that anti-democratic forces are hatching conspiracies to thwart the polls, he said such forces should be defeated.
“Police acted as onlookers when stones were pelted targeting me. The government must step up security.”
He urged Jwala Singh and Goit-led factions of the JTMM to come for talks. Saying that talks can be held with agitating forces in the Tarai, he said, “The government will address all demands except those demands that are against national integrity.” Vice-president of the NC Prakashman Singh said no one’s demands will be met if the polls are not held.
