KATHMANDU: Nepal Free Textile Garment Workers’ Union has demanded minimum salary and urged the government to solve their problems at the earliest. Speaking at a

programme organised here on the occasion of the 22nd establishment year of the Union today demanded that every labour should be paid Rs 4,600 per month in minimum and Rs 190 the daily wage. The closed textile industries should be reopened, they added. Inaugurating the programme, general secretary of Nepal Trade Union Federation Binod Shrestha said all workers affiliated to the Union should be united for the solution of their problems.

They should be provided orientation to make them competent in the political sector. Deputy General Secretary of the Union Hari Datta Joshi and Central Regional Coordinator Uddhav KC among others said initiatives should be taken to address the demands of labour.
