Greenland advance KATHMANDU: Greenland and Kathmandu Valley entered the quarter-finals of the first Clinton Inter-school Basketball Tournament. Greenland defeated Reliance 34-27, while Kathmandu Valley beat Zenith 33-13. Also, Golden Peak beat Angel Hearts 35-26, Loyalty beat Newton 39-28 and Deep Jyoti beat hosts Clinton 20-13 to advance to the last eight. — HNS
Prez Running Shield KATHMANDU: Kathmandu District Sports Development Committee is organising the first President Running Shield Inter-school Volleyball and Athletics Championships from May 31 in Kathmandu. The volleyball tournament will be held from May 31 to June 9, while the athletics is slated for May 31 to June 3. — HNS
Bajracharya departs KATHMANDU: President of Nepal Judo Association Deepak Harsha Bajracharya on Monday left for Taiwan to participate in the congress of the Judo Union of Asia slated for May 19-21. Bajracharya is also the vice president of South Asian Judo Federation. The Nepali judo team is scheduled to leave for Taipei on Tuesday to take part in the Asian Judo Championship to be held from May 23-24. — HNS
