UM Motorcycles launches two new models in Nepal
KATHMANDU: IME Automotives, authorised distributors of UM Motorcycles in Nepal launched the brand’s new ‘made in India’ models — Renegade Commando in 230cc and 300cc variants and Renegade Sports S in 140cc, 180cc and 300cc variants — at a grand event on August 6.
UM Lohia Two Wheelers Pvt Ltd, the Indian arm of the American motorcycle maker UM International, LLCbegan transporting the new models manufactured at UM Lohia’s Kashipur manufacturing facility in Uttarakhand, India to Nepal in July.
The Renegade Commando has been launched with the tagline ‘Feel the Freedom’ while the Renegade Sports S promises to ‘Rule the Streets’. The models come jam-packed with features such as Anti-Flat Sealant (AFS), LED 360 degree, USB charging port, UM gel seat and Intelligent Dashboard among many other features. UM Motorcycles has equipped the new models with a fuel injection engine to make the motorbikes adhere to the BS IV emission regulations.
Both UM Renegade Commando and Renegade Sports S have the same 279.5cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine and come with a fuel tank of 18 litre capacity with kerb weight of 172 kg. The engine delivers 24.8bhp and a peak torque of 23 Nm through a six-speed gearbox. The Renegade Commando is priced at Rs 4,92,000 and Renegade Sports S (300cc) at Rs 4,99,000.
The Renegade Commando has wide handlebars and hydraulic telescopic front suspension and spring rear suspension, while the UM Renegade Sports S comes with an electric start and has an air filter with paper element innovation.
A six-speed synchronised mesh has been added for easy cruising. Its front wheel has telescopic suspension while the rear wheel has dual shock absorbers.
