Agricultural goods worth Rs 3.36 billion were exported through the Plant Quarantine and Pesticide Management Centre Office, Kakarbhitta, in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2082/83, according to the office.

Information Officer Chandreshwar Thakur said the main export items included cardamom, tea, plywood, veneer, ginger, and broom grass (Amliso). Cardamom topped the list with exports worth Rs 1.51 billion, followed by tea (Rs 756.6 million), plywood (Rs 277.4 million), veneer (Rs 272.8 million), and Amliso (Rs 195.9 million).

Other exports included ginger (Rs 119 million), fresh vegetables (Rs 94.7 million), herbs (Rs 12.4 million), and lentils (Rs 74.1 million).

During the same period, imports of agricultural produce through the eastern checkpoint totaled Rs 1.45 billion, mainly comprising potatoes, millet, pulses, rice, vegetables, fruits, garlic, maize, and livestock feed.

Potatoes worth Rs 307.7 million, fruits worth Rs 236.7 million, and garlic worth Rs 179.9 million were among the major imports, the office said.
