KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 4
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) fell sharply on Tuesday, with the benchmark index declining by 27.64 points, or 1.05 percent, to close at 2,595.24 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of Class 'A' companies, slipped by 0.86 percent, while the float index, reflecting actively traded shares, decreased by 1.06 percent.
All sectoral indices ended in negative territory, marking a broad-based downturn. The finance sector led the losses with a decline of 2.21 percent, while no other sector posted losses exceeding 2 percent.
Market turnover stood at Rs 5.15 billion, generated from the trading of 10,343,898 shares of 322 companies across 46,875 transactions.
Out of the traded scrips, 34 advanced, 213 declined, and 3 remained unchanged. Muktinath Krishi Company Limited (MKCL) was the only stock to hit the 10 percent lower circuit limit.
By the close of trading, the total market capitalization had fallen to Rs 4.339 trillion.
