Arghakhanchi goes flush with telephone network, towers
Sandhikharka, October 20:
Thirty-eight of the 42 VDCs in Arghakhanchi district have got telephone network.
According to the Arghakhanchi bramch offuice of Nepal Telecom, all VDCs in the district will get telephone network within the current fiscal year.
Nepal Telecom is also planning to set up solar-powered communication towers in those VDCs which have no access to electricity.
NT’s Arghakhanchi branch chief Govinda Parajuli said that a tower was being constructed in Gokhuga Simedeurali for CDMA mobile network. Over 5,000 CDMA mobiles will be supported by the tower.
Likewise, towers for Namaste Mobile network are also being built in Sandhikharka, Khana, Kimdanda, Nuwakot, Asurkot, Balkot and Bangla VDCs.
Each of the towers will support at least 2,000 mobile lines except the one in Sandhikharka, which will support 5,000 lines.
At present, only Jaluke, Jukena, Dhatibang and one more VDC are bereft of telephone network. The NT branch office is working to put them on the phone map.
